Junior Ironman

The National Little Britches Rodeo Association board of director announces the selected contestants to participate in each Junior Ironman. These five Senior Boy contestants, along with five selected contestants from the Lazy E, compete in a 3 go-round competition in heading, heeling, tie down roping and steer wrestling.

The NLBRA Senior boys ages 14-19, have competed all over the United States in over 500 sanctioned NLBRA rodeos. They accumulate points in heading, heeling, tie down calf roping and steer wrestling during the regular season, as well as points accrued at the NLBRA finals at the Lazy E in Guthrie, OK. These races are always close, and after tough seasons of competition, the five NLBRA constituents for each Junior Ironman are reviewed and recommended by the committee and approved by the full board. These young men are chosen on the merits of points accrued in their events, their finals participation, level of competition and location during the season. These five young cowboys and five more chosen via a selection process through the Lazy E, have their chance at glory and compete at each annual Jr. Ironman Championship, a building ground for young guns who aspire to one day compete at the Timed Event Championships.

2025 Contestants: Wyatt Williams, Luke Tippmann, Jesse Vesperman, Leo Loucks, Micah Kearney

2024 Contestants: Hank Burgess, Micah Kearney, Tyler Porter, Evan Bottini, Luke Tippmann

These contestants will compete in three performances consisting of Heading, Heeling, Tie Down Roping and Steer Wrestling. This will determine the next champion and winner of the $10,000 in prize money.

The National Little Britches Rodeo Association is based in Colorado Springs, CO. There are over 500 sanctioned rodeos in 33 states where rodeo athletes ages 5-19 can compete. For more information on the JR. Ironman and membership to the Little Britches visit www.nlbra.com.
